Hi Brain and Soumitri
One of the projects that was porposed last year by a group of ID students was to get a Design Students Society(DSS) started this year to help promote more interaction between the different year levels and provide the Industrial Design students with some more social events. To kick start the DSS a Pub Crawl is being organised and the proposed date is for it to be held on the 3rd of March starting at 5pm. We hope to get people from all levels of the ID program to attend, including lecturers and staff - so is there anything already organised eg: first year camp, that might mean we have to change the date of the pub crawl?
Later on when all the deatils are finalised we will be wanting to get the word out to as many within the ID program as possible - would it be possible to have an email sent out via the ID program mailing list?

List revision

ok so I have revised the list of pubs/bars and added some of the places suggested by Ben and Kate.
Here it is:

The Oxford Scholar
Hotel Lincoln
Queensbury Hotel
The Stork
Mercat Cross Hotel
BAK PAK
Workshop -on Elizabeth street
The Duke of Kent Hotel

If youv'e never been to these places check out what others have said on www.melbournepubs.com
Also I will email brian to check that the 3rd won't pose a problem for getting people on the crawl - make sure there isn't anything on that will interfere. Also I am planning to come in for the working bee and after it I will do a dry run of the crawl to make sure its an alright route, the pubs are still there etc... and also try and arrange some drinks specials for us at various places - if anyone wants to give me a hand with this then come along.

Pubs/Bars List

Ok heres a preliminary list of pubs/bars for the DSS pub crawl. It has been suggested that the date for it should be friday the 3rd of March, if anyone thinks that this date could be an overall problem for the genral ID popultaion - eg: first year camp is on or something then please suggest a different date - it can be easily changed. Anyway the list.....
It has been decided that we will start at the oxford.
so any of these could follow Duke of Kent, Van Gogh Bar - Melbourne Central, Three Degrees bar, Fluid Oz(melbourne International Backpackers) - please suggest more pubs/Bars or of course if you don't agree with of the ones on the preliminary list then say so and we can scratch them.
Has anyone been to any of the pubs on Franklin street ? Maybe one or two of those would be good. Suggestion for Pubs please....sooner the list and date is confirmed the sooner that we can put out flyers and emails about it to the ID program.


oh and can we get a list of supporters/disciple's so that the Student Union can be talked to so we can find out what the deal at that end is.
